Background

James L. Ehret, PE founded the Company in 1993, and incorporated Ehret Construction Company in 1997 as a Merit Shop Construction Management and General Contracting Company. Ehret has gained a reputation as a customer-oriented builder with an aggressive value-based program approach. As the President, Jim brings over 30 years of Construction Experience in this region and an excellent reputation with owners, architects and subcontractors throughout the industry.

In 2009, Steve Talbott joined the Company as Vice President and in 2010 Ehret opened an office in Mount Laurel, NJ to better serve our customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Ehret Construction Company is incorporated in the State of Delaware and licensed in Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey.

Who we are

The Management Team at Ehret includes Registered Professional Engineers, Estimators, and Project Managers and a seasoned field team of Superintendents, Carpenters and Laborers.

James L. Ehret, P.E. – President

Jim has over 30 years of Construction Management and General Contracting experience and has managed over $400M of building projects including multiple complex renovation projects as well as major new building programs. As President of Ehret Construction Company, Jim maintains a hands- on approach to managing his customers’ work.

Steve Talbott – Vice President

Steve has over 25 years of project management and facilities management experience. Prior to joining Ehret, Steve served as the Director of Facilities and VP of Construction for the Mid- Atlantic Region of Commerce Bank directly responsible for development of over 200 retail bank branches and over 500,000sf of regional office buildings, operations centers and call centers.
As a Senior Project Manager, Steve leads and manages projects from preconstruction thru construction.

From our offices in Wilmington, DE and Mount Laurel, NJ, Ehret serves private, commercial and institutional customers throughout the mid-Atlantic region on new projects, renovations and fit-out construction projects up to $20 million. Ehret’s experience includes hospitality, commercial office, healthcare, senior living, private country club and golf club, and religious projects.

Services

Ehret Construction Company secures contracts through lump sum (stipulated sum) bidding and negotiated private and institutional work. Ehret provides clients design phase (preconstruction) and construction phase services with a wide range of construction delivery system options. and a variety: We can be called upon at any stage of a project to deliver valuable decision-making input.

We recognize our clients desire to incorporate alternative energy sources, reduce water consumption, minimize waste and enhance indoor air quality in the construction of buildings. At Ehret, sustainable or green construction is a commitment to an environmentally aware approach to building and to environmental stewardship. Ehret practices sustainable construction techniques and supports our customers green building and LEED initiatives.

Keeping our Workers Safe

Our team members are considered our most valuable asset, and safety at Ehret is more than just a program. Safety is imbedded in our culture. We continually develop new safety training programs and utilize new safety methods to meet the needs of the industry and our
workforce. Protecting our workers, our customers, partners, and the general public is of utmost importance.

As an additional level of safety monitoring, Ehret employs an independent consultant to monitor our jobsite safety. Our safety consultant makes regular and frequent unannounced visits to our jobsites to ensure the safety of our employees, consultants and customers.
